Four times per year, at the end of each term, The Hedgerows hosts an Exhibition Night, which is an opportunity for learners throughout our community to share all the cool work they have been doing. Exhibition Night is open to any individual of any age who wishes to display and/or present projects to the public.

Who can participate?

Literally anyone!  We encourage all Hedgerows Learners to bring at least one project to each Exhibition Night.  In addition, we welcome homeschoolers and learners enrolled at other institutions to submit projects.  Adults are welcome to submit projects, too!  Have you created something cool recently?  This is the place to share it!

If you don’t want to submit a project, we encourage you to attend! This is a free event that is open to the public. Come see all the learning happening on our community!

What sort of projects can I enter?

The simple answer is, whatever you want! We accept all kinds of learning, including art work, musical performances, science projects, slideshows, videos, short plays, etc.

If you are in need of ideas, the theme for The Hedgerows Fall Term is games, with the Essential Question: Why do humans play games? Here are some ideas for projects you could do around games:

• design and create your own board or card game

• program a simple video game using Scratch

• analyze the probability of winning a game of chance

• research an ancient game and the culture in which it was invented

• learn how to play the music that accompanies one of your favorite video games

• compose original music for a video game scene

• research the artists behind one of your favorite games and analyze their techniques and style

• analyze the math and/or physics involved in one of your favorite sports

Don’t like any of these? We encourage you to come up with your own idea!

Not a fan of games? That’s ok! You are welcome to submit a project on any topic of your choosing.

When is Exhibition Night?

Exhibition Night happens four times per year, on the final day of each of our terms. Our Fall Exhibition Night will take place on Friday, December 8 from 6-8pm.

Where is Exhibition Night?

Our Fall 2023 Exhibition Night will happen at our Home Base in the Durham Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, located at 20 Madbury Road, Durham, NH.
